Betty Jane Harrison Lankford, 82, left this earthly life Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at LifeBrite Community Hospital of Stokes.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm., Friday, May 20, 2022, at Cedar Falls Primitive Baptist Church, 1035 Moores Spring Rd, Westfield, NC. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Mrs. Lankford was born June 5, 1939, to the late Deral Otis Harrison and Bertha Brown Harrison Fulk. She was a member of Cedar Falls Primitive Baptist Church, and a graduate of Walnut Cove High School. She worked at Stokes Reynolds Hospital for a number of years and retired from Stokes County Department of Social Services with more than 30 years of service. Betty loved to get up early and ride over the farm and enjoy nature. She loved animals especially her cats. She was devoted to the Lord, her family, and assisting others. She was a friend to all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Otis Lankford and step-father, James Clyde Fulk.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Marilyn Mabe Lankford; brother, Teddy Deral Harrison and wife, Kathy Vaden Harrison; sister, Shirley Harrison Mabe and husband, Tommy, sister-in-law, Lois Lankford; brother-in-law, Donald Lankford and wife, Brenda; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Cedar Falls Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, C/o Lynn Whitaker, 1914 Hall Rd, Westfield, NC 27053.
Mrs. Lankford will lie in state at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel, Thursday, May 19, Colonial Funeral Home in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
