Betty Griffin Williams, a long -time resident of Mayodan, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Westchester Manor in High Point. She was born on June 3, 1928, in Stokes County, the youngest of seven children, to the late Henry and Sally Lou Griffin.

A 2:00 p.m. graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Mayodan Municipal Cemetery with Rev. Garrett Collins officiating. For those wishing to pay their respects, Mrs. Williams will lie in repose on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryant Williams, three sisters and three brothers. Surviving are her sons, Tim Williams (Belva) of Archdale and Ron Dodson of Winston-Salem. Also surviving are two grandsons and two great grandchildren.

After her retirement from Southern Life Insurance, Betty was very active in the community. She served on the Mayodan Town Council, the board of Mayodan Methodist Church, and the Madison-Mayodan Recreation Board. She was an Ambassador for the North Carolina Senior Games and a long-time volunteer for Hospice of Rockingham County. In 2001 she was selected Volunteer of the Year.

The family would like to thank the staff of Westchester Manor for all the love and support shown to Betty.
