Bertha Scott Corns, 94, loving wife, mama, grandma and great-grandma, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Stokes County Nursing Home.

She was born in Cabell County, West Virginia, August 22, 1930, the only child of C.B. and Margaret Scott. She grew up in Meadows of Dan, VA, where she graduated from high school in 1949. Bertha loved animals and flowers. She enjoyed road trips with her friends and visiting her elderly neighbors. Most of all, she enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow up.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bethel Corns.

Survivors include son, Michael (Deborah) Corns; her daughter, Kathy (Ron) Slawter; grandchildren, Kara Slawter and Jenna (Nicholas) Bowman; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Isaac Bowman.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Corns Family Cemetery, Weldon Smith Road, Lawsonville.

There will be no family night at the funeral home. Friends may sign the register book at the funeral home on Friday, November 8, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
