Bertha Mae Hill Williams, 92, died on Friday, May 19, 2023.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at True Gospel Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday at Colonial Funeral Home in Madison and all other times at 190 Lemontree Trail, Stokesdale.
Mrs. Williams was born on June 3, 1930 in Rockingham County to the late John Willie Hill and Rachel Tucker Hill. She retired from Blue Bell, Inc. and was a longtime member of True Gospel Baptist Church. Bertha will forever be remembered for her giving heart and being a caregiver to all.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jason “Tootie” Williams; brothers, J.W. Hill, Jr. and Harry Hill and sisters, Carolyn Tuggle and Marie Moore.
Survivors include her children, Peggy W. Taylor, Bobby Williams, Jr.; and Randy Williams (Crystal); grandchildren, Melissa Bullins, Cindy Turman (Paul), Julie Taylor (Scott), Christy Smith, Misty Atkins (Chris) and Jaime Hopper (Brent); great-grandchildren, Jerry Lee Lewis, Jr. (Jessica), Lorrie Lemons (James), Joseph Turman (Alexis), Stephanie Douglas (Cody), Jacob Knight (Miriam), Caleb Smith, Cayden Smith, Autumn Knight, Sarah Taylor, Emily Hopper, Bella Gunner, and Taylor Hopper; great-great-grandchildren, Austin, Nathan and Callie Lemons, Hunter and Jason Lewis, Lane and Madeline Turman, Savannah, Matthew and Adeline Douglas and Samantha Taylor; brother, Otis Hill; sisters, Betty Conway, Brenda Lewis and Dean Lunsford and many extended family members.
