Mrs. Bernice Stokes Winchester departed this life on Saturday afternoon, July 9, 2022.
As a resident of Reidsville for the majority of her life, she attended the local public schools and was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church, serving as a Deaconess. During her leisure, she enjoyed cooking and reading the Bible.
Her parents, Bell Martin Stokes and Robert Stokes; beloved husband, Rev. Moses Winchester, Sr.; children, Carolyn, Susie and Ronnie Winchester; great-grandchildren, Kevin Winchester and Kenya Winchester; a host of sisters and brothers, preceded her in death. Survivors are: loving children, Henry Winchester, Moses H. Winchester, Jr., Rev. Burnett Winchester (Debra), Larry Winchester and Lisa Winchester; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Bell Worthy; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2022 from the Shiloh Baptist Church with Pastor William Hairston presiding. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 until 1:00 p.m. at the church. Public viewing will be Thursday afternoon at Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street.
