

Mrs. Bernice Delores Hairston Jackson, age 83, was born August 23, 1941 in Cascade, VA. On Saturday, February 15, 2025, she peacefully transitioned to Eternal Life at Beacon Place in Greensboro, NC.
Public viewing will begin on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 12 until 6 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.
The committal and interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery, Reidsville, NC.
All other times, the family will receive friends at 103 S. Pierce Street, Eden, NC from 1 until 6 p.m.
To cherish her memory, she leaves: two brothers, Donald and Kern Hairston, both of Raleigh, NC; three sisters, Betty (Phillip) Adams of Danville, VA, Arnettie Hairston and Mabone Jackson, both of Eden, NC; sister-in-law, Lucy Hairston of Pelham, NC; one step-daughter, Penelope (Oliver) Bowie of Greensboro, NC; three nieces, Vickie (Stuart) Lovelace and their grandson, Xaidyn and their children, Trenton, Trevor and Makenzie; LaVae Hairston and Levette (Cornell) Chasten and their daughter Ava; nephews, Brian Hairston, Jeffrey (Letta) Jackson and their children Larry, Tamia and James, and their grandchildren, Joi, Jurni and Breanne, and Stanton Adams and his son Kaden; one former brother-in-law, Edward Jackson and two former sisters-in-law, Sharon Hairston and Daphnia Williamson; special god-sons, Roger (Lorraine) Redd and Terry (Pattie) Nunnally; very dear friends, Minnie Petty of Eden, NC and Jackie Robinson of Pittsburgh, PA; a plethora of other paternal and maternal cousins, family, friends and relations remain as part of her legacy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence (D: 2008); son, James (D. 1991); four siblings, Loyd (D: 2015), Levant (D: 2018), Faye (D: 2015) and Keith (D: 1995); nephew, Bennie C. Jackson (D: 2011) and niece, Veleatta A. Adams (D: 1997).
