Obituary: BERNARD GRAY “BERNIE” HUDSPETH

Bernard G. “Bernie” Hudspeth, 86, of Reidsville went to be with the Lord Saturday November 16, 2024 at Annie Penn Hospital.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday November 20, 2024  in Evergreen Memory Gardens with Pastor Matt Norman officiating. The family will see friends 4:00 till 6:00 P.M. Tuesday November 19, 2024 at Citty Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.

A native of Yadkin County, he was a son of the late Edward Lee Hudspeth, Sr. and the late Bessie “Judy” Nicks Hudspeth. Bernie had lived in Reidsville since 1970 and was a retired employee of Duke Power Company with 35 years of service. He attended Northside Baptist Church in Eden, NC, and was a former member of First United Methodist Church in Reidsville. He enjoyed golf, tennis, and working in his yard. He had served as a Hospice volunteer for over 25 years,and looked forward to breakfast every morning with the Bo Gang. Bernie loved his grand dogs, and was preceded in death by his wife: Alice Choplin Hudspeth, brothers: Robert Ray Hudspeth and Jerry Dean Hudspeth, and a sister: Nancy Jane Miller.

Survivors include: his daughters: Teresa Hudspeth Binkley (David) of Terrell, Sandra L. Hudspeth of Reidsville, sister: Linda H. Sprinkle of Winston-Salem, brother: Edward Lee Hudspeth, Jr. (Faye) of Kernersville, sister-in-law: Elizabeth C. Rosa (Julius) of Lexington, and special friend: Betty Towler of Cascade, VA
