Berman Carlton “Bunny” Wilson, 84, a “matter of fact man”, “another day another dollar man”, left this earthly life, Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at UNC Well Care Hospital, Eden, N.C.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel with Reverend Cas Horton officiating. Interment will follow in the Sandy Ridge Presbyterian Church cemetery.
Born March 31, 1938, Bunny was a lifelong resident of Stokes County. He attended Sandy Ridge School, and owned and operated “Bunny’s Garage”, in Sandy Ridge. He was a NASCAR fan and was the proud owner of Race car #27, which he traveled many miles in dirt track racing. He had a dry sense of humor, was strong-willed, and in-spite of many health issues continued to work. Bunny attended Christian View Pentecostal Holiness Church and was dedicated in his support of the church with his attendance and means.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Franklin Wilson and Minnie Lee Brown Wilson; three brothers, Gilmer, Leroy, and Cecil Wilson; and three sisters, Virginia W. Hawkins, Mildred W. Collins, and Peggy W. Grey.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Sonja Richardson Wilson; daughters, Susan W. Brown (Matt) and Carla Wilson (Wesley Durham); grandchildren, Kayla Brown, Gavin Brown, Luke Brown, and Jackson Durham; one sister, Janie W. Williams, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday, November 4, 2022, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel and other times at the residence.
