Obituary: BELINDA DONNELL GREEN

Obituary: BELINDA DONNELL GREEN

Ms. Belinda Donnell Green departed this life on Sunday morning, October 22, 2023.

Belinda was born to the late Ethel and Flatie Donnell in Greensboro, North Carolina on September 13, 1954, the youngest of their two children. She graduated from Dudley High School, then attended North Carolina A & T State University. Her contributions and dedication to many included her job as a Food Service Director Assistant at Greensboro Manor for 20 years. Prior to her employment there, she worked at NC A & T where she met her husband.

She was predeceased by her husband Walter L. Green, III in 2003 and a brother, Robert Donnell.

Spiritually, she was a faithful member of Mount Calvary Holiness Church where she was a member of the Gospel Choir. She will be remembered by her smile, laughter, jokes and at times her stubbornness that made her who she was. She listened to her favorite singers, Shirley Caesar, The Clark Sisters, Canton Spirituals and Lee Williams until the CDs skipped. Then she would say, “Come on baby, I know Mama is overworking you”, as continued to tap her thigh as she listened to her music. She didn’t stop there when CDs went out of style, she turned the radio on 1400 AM, 1510 AM or preaching and listening while watching Golden Girls and playing a puzzle. She loved her family and especially doted on her children and grandbabies.

We thank God for her beautiful Christian life of love, service and devotion. Glory To God!

Belinda is survived by her children, Anthony Donnell (Monica), Mariah Green (Natari) and Christopher Green (Kelley); grandchildren, Sierra Donnell, Jeremiah Donnell (Jennifer), Alexis Parker (Joshua), India Donnell, Elisha Donnell, Joy Donnell, Toney Donnell and Prosperity Donnell; great-grandchildren, Arianna Moore, Amir Evans, Steffany Castillo, Gabriel Castillo, Za’Reyah Donnell, Zamora Donnell, Zamiah Parker, Josiah Parker and Raniah Parker; aunt Joanne Doggett; nieces and nephews, Bruce Fraizer, Mia Fraizer, Bonita Howard, Robert Donnell (Kathy) and Daron Donnell; additional nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2023 from the Saint Thomas Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, 633 NC Highway 150 with Bishop L. Bernard Florence presiding. The family visitation will be Friday from 12:30 until 1:00 p.m. at the church. Public viewing will be Thursday afternoon at Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street, Reidsville.
