

Beatrice Helen Kennon Blanchard came face to face with her Savior on the morning of March 4, 2025.
Bea, as she was called, was born on April 10, 1933 in Draper, NC. She was the daughter of Will and Dolly Kennon. She was the seventh child of ten. Bea was known for her love of family. She and her six sisters shared an unbreakable bond throughout their lifetimes. Bea married Floyd Hancock and enjoyed 41 years of marriage until his death in 1991. They built a life with their three daughters living in several states. Later in life, Bea married Manfred Blanchard, gaining two bonus sons. Bea enjoyed decorating and filled her home with treasures and love. She was a dedicated homemaker, loving mother, and cherished grandmother. Bea enjoyed spending her time with her family and watching them grow.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Joyce Taylor of Hamilton, Ohio, Marie Johnson (Bobby) of Eden, NC, and two bonus sons, David and Larry Blanchard. She is survived by grandchildren, Robbie Deel, Bobby Johnson (Kelly), Candice Taylor, Jessica Powers, Heather Mills (John), Ryan Johnson (Evie), and Britney Purvis (Matt); nineteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Frances Pierce and Veronica Duck; brother, Billy Kennon.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd, and second husband, Manfred; her daughter, Cathy Blevins; grandson, Shane Stroud; and siblings, Jessie Kennon, Ruby Adkins, Lucille Baker, Melvin Kennon, Jessie Kennon, Viola Allen, and Hazel Robinson.
A special thank you to her devoted sister, Frances Pierce, for loving and caring for her the last few years. A heartfelt thank you to the caring staff at Penn Nursing Center for caring for her in her final stages of dementia.
