Barry Dean “BoDean” Stovall, 66, of Lawsonville, N.C., left this earthly life Friday, December 22, 2023, at home.
Barry was born July 9, 1957, in Patrick County, VA, to the late Donnell Stovall and Audrey Shelton Stovall. He was a graduate of North Stokes High School. He retired from the North Carolina Department of Correction as a Correctional Officer. Barry was well known throughout the community as a kind hearted man who would give you the “shirt off his back.” Barry was a skilled mechanic who loved restoring vintage cars. He was currently working with Terrance Wood repairing wrecked vehicles.
In addition to his parents, Barry was preceded in death by two brothers Timmy Stovall and Mark Stovall.
Survivors include the true love of his life, wife Helen Shelton Stovall; brothers Steve Stovall (Tilda) and William Stovall; sisters Lequita Carter (Bobby), Penny Mabe (J.C.), Patricia Bullins (David), Melinda Dalton; sister-in-law Kay Stovall; two grandchildren Natasha Stovall and DeNae Sink, and his very special great-grandchildren Tyler Bolen, Sara Martin, Cameron Stovall, Kayleigh Stovall, David Sink III, and Hunter Sink.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel. Interment will follow in the Stovall Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 12:45 p.m.
