Barbara Roberts Neal, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 17, 2023.
A native of Caswell County, Barbara was the daughter of the late Hilliard Wood Roberts and Rosa Catherine Shelton Roberts. Barbara attended Greensboro Women’s College, A&T University, and Columbia Bible College where she received her degree in education and taught there for 10 years before returning to Caswell County. She taught elementary students in Caswell County in between her missionary travels to Brazil, Philippines, Haiti, and Suriname, South America where she continued to teach elementary students and spend her time working on the mission field. She was an active member of Grace Fellowship Church in Reidsville, NC.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David K. Neal, Sr., sister, Ruby Roberts McKinney, and brother, Henry Thomas Roberts. She is survived by her stepchildren, Alice Oldham, Gordon Oldham, Martha Carroll (Jim), David Neal, Jr. (Allison); grandchildren, Christie Berry (Clint), Carrie Mike (Frank), Jonathan Oldham (Jessika), Justin Oldham (Kari), Amy Neal (Joey), and Chip Neal; nieces Malinda Collins (Tom), Norma White (Allen), Vickie Bennett (Johnny); nephew, Greg Roberts (Dawn), along with 8 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Barbara’s life will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday September 1, 2023 in Citty Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be streamed live on Citty Funeral Home’s website.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity in memory of Barbara Roberts Neal. Citty Funeral Home is assisting the Neal family.
