On Saturday, January 20, 2024. God reached down from heaven and received Austin Wesley McMillan home to be with Him.
The family will receive guest Thursday – Sunday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the residence of his grandparents, 4104 Appleton Road, Greensboro, NC.
Public viewing Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 1 until 5 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home, 1024 Homeland Avenue, Greensboro, NC.
Austin was born on October 25, 1999, in Greensboro, NC to Stephanie McMillan and Damon Locust.
Austin was raised in Greensboro, NC where he attended Hampton Elementary School, Lincoln Middle School, and Northeast Guilford High School, where he graduated in 2018. Austin grew in faith at New Millennium Christian Center for many years.
After high school he attended Barbizon Modeling and Acting School where he pursued his passion to become a runway model and actor. He had a small role in a 2022 Hallmark Movie “To Her, with Love” and multiple runway shows in Florida and North Carolina.
Austin worked at Wet and Wild and eventually secured a position at Hamrick’s of Greensboro part time. He later became a fulltime employee and moved on to the position of Supervisor.
Austin was THE NUMBER ONE Carolina Panther fan from the team’s inception. He also loved the Miami Heat, and was a huge fan of Anime. Gaming with his brothers was another passion he enjoyed. The beach was his favorite place and he spent as much time there as he could.
From an early age Austin had a desire to help others and was a regular blood donor at the Red Cross. Because of his blood type, they would often reach out to him for donations.
He delighted in doing for others. His heart was pure, and he loved hard; especially his family. If he loved you, he did not hesitate to show you.
Austin was preceded in death by his Great Grandfathers’ Robert McLean and James McMillan, Grandfathers’ Wayne Locust and Eric McMillan, Great Grandmothers’ Margaret McMillan and Myrtle McLean.
He leaves to mourn his Father, Damon Locust, Mother, Stephanie Bolton, Stepfather Duane Bolton. He is survived by his siblings Stephen McMillan, Cameron Bolton and Grace Bolton, Grandmothers’ Rita Locust, Cheryl Owens-Jenkins, Grandfather Tyrone Jenkins, Great Aunt Betty Daye, Great Uncle William (Bill) Owens Jr (Karen), Uncles Derrick McMillan and Marcus McMillan, Best Friends Josh Perry and Markel Chamberlin and a host of cousins.
