Aundra Felix Hooper departed this life on Tuesday afternoon, September 19, 2023.

As a native and lifelong resident of Rockingham County, North Carolina, he attended the local public schools and was a farmer by trade. Spiritually, he was an active member of New Ephesus Baptist Church and was a former member of Grooms Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. During his leisure, he enjoyed riding his tractor and spending time with family.

His parents, Joann Blackwell Hooper and Arthur Hooper; grandparents who nurtured and raised him, Harriett Totten Hooper and James Hooper; sister, Mitzie Hooper Phelps, preceded him in death.

Survivors are: a loving son (his pride and joy), Markius Hooper (Shaniya); granddaughter (“Pop Pop’s” Princess), A’Maria Hooper; sisters, Gracie Hooper, Debra Griffin and Yvette Parker; brothers, Randy Hooper, Arthur “Chuck” Hooper, Jr. and Bobby “Demp” Hooper; aunts and uncles, Delores Moyer (Daniel), Michael Blackwell (Tracy) and Marshall Junius Blackwell, Sr. (Clocelton); special cousins, Ronald Hooper (Jeanette), Undra Robinson (Kim), Malana Scales (David), Teresa Annette Blackwell Akins (Lynn) and Junius Blackwell, Jr.; devoted friends, Mr. & Mrs. Ronald Poteat; special caregiver, Kenna Smothers; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 24, 2023 from the New Ephesus Baptist Church, 8939 Highway 158 East, Ruffin with Pastor E. Lamar Boykin presiding. The family visitation will be Sunday from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m. at the church. Public viewing will be Saturday afternoon at Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street.
