Arthur (Art) Carney unexpectedly departed his earthly life on January 20, 2025 at his home. Art was born April 28, 1965 in Gettysburg, PA. He grew up in a family of eight children born to Leland D. Carney, Jr. and Sandra H. Boring.

The funeral service will be 3:00 PM Monday, January 27, 2025 at Colonial Funeral Home in Madison. The family will receive friends from 2:00PM until 2:45PM at the funeral home.

Art loved joking and clowning around with family and friends. He enjoyed all sports, especially football with the Pittsburgh Steelers being his favorite team. He also enjoyed being at the beach, karaoke, and rejoiced being with his family. Art was a compassionate soul with a deep love for family, friends, and coworkers.

Art loved the military. He served his country honorably for 12 years as an 82nd Airborne Paratrooper in the U.S. Army. He had tours of duty in Desert Storm and Desert Shield. Art was employed by Kayser Roth Corporation as an applications systems analyst for nearly 20 years and was still working there at the time of his death.

Art is survived by his loving wife, Tammy O. Carney; mother, Sandra Boring Davis; stepfather, Tom Davis. Surviving sons are Chase, Blake, Brian, and Danny Carney (wife Kim). Daughters include Tamara Duque (Ivan), Kamaron Rankin (Phillip), Miakoda Miller (A.J.). His grandchildren are, Kaleigha, Braxton, Sutton, Tehya, Illan, and Ikaia. Art is survived by three brothers and four sisters: Donald Carney (Linda), Jefferey Carney (Lisa), Doyle Carney (Trisha), Carolyn Spangler (Larry), Sandra Mitchell (Jeff), Vickie Coachman (Mark), and Peggy Miller (Mark). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Art is preceded in death by his father Leland D. Carney, Jr. and a special nephew Jeffrey Mitchell, Jr.

Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
