Obituary: ARCHIE DEAN GREGORY

Mr. Archie Dean Gregory, 75, of Reidsville, NC passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital surrounded by his family.

He was born on March 25,1948 in North Wilkesboro, to the late Walter James Gregory and Vergie Prevette Gregory of Ronda, NC. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Dean Gregory Kendrick.
Archie spent his life working in commercial development and building throughout central North Carolina. He was a perfectionist when it came to even the smallest details of the building process.

He was a graduate of Appalachian State University, where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard as a Military Police Officer.
Archie was an avid sportsman. He was always ready for the next adventure; whether big game hunting with his nephew Richard in Canada, or small-mouth bass fishing with Phil, Glenn and Courtland on the New River in Virginia, deep sea outings with friends in Morehead City, or simply fishing in the pond on his farm with the very youngest members of his family. He was at his best, when surrounded by family and friends enjoying the outdoors.

Archie met the love of his life the early 1980’s. Even though they both were students at App State at the same time, they did not know each other until both had started their careers later in Greensboro. He and Julie were married and began their love story 35 years ago and it will never end. They have built and created a home filled with love and beauty, traveled the world together, surrounded themselves with a plethora of friendships and left a quite legacy of helping those in need of a second opportunity.
Archie is survived by his loving wife, Julie Lesniak Gregory of the home. The two “apples of his eye”, his pets, Cally and Bandy, sisters, Peggy Gregory Smith and Norma Gregory Brewer, his brother Dorman Walter Gregory (Juanita) all of Greensboro, and a very large extended family and network of friends who will love and remember him always
.
