Anthony Lewis Harris, Sr. departed this life on Saturday morning, June 3, 2023.
He was a native of Durham County, North Carolina and a resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the majority of his life before returning to North Carolina. Anthony was a graduate of Hillside High School, Class of 1968 and pursued further education at Durham Technical Community College. He was a retired auto mechanic and enjoyed drawing.
His mother, Pauline Martha Harris, preceded him in death.
Survivors are: son, Anthony Lewis Harris, Jr.; sisters, Esther Harris Barber (Robert), Kathy Darlene Harris-Glanton (Andre) and Marilyn Bullock; special friend, Gloria Rosmont-Hamilton; other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2023 from the Ambassadors For Christ Ministries, 421 Peter Hill Street with Bishop Leroy Valentine presiding. The family visitation will be Monday from 12:30 until 1:00 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75231.
His remains are in the care of Johnson & Sons.
