Annie Mabe Bennett, 97, left this earthly life, Friday, September 23, 2022, at her home.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Samaria Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. She may be viewed at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel from 1 to 5 p.m., Saturday, September 24.
Mrs. Bennett was born April 9, 1925, in Stokes County, to the late Robert Bob and Dora Joyce Mabe. She was retired from the former Stokes Reynolds Hospital as a cafeteria worker. She was a good cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening, and farming.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Willie Nick Bennett; grandson, Ritchie Bennett; brothers, Ulus, Willis, and Paul Mabe; and sisters, Stella Stephens, Thelma Cook, Ola Fagg, Lear Dyson, Roxie Cromer, Martha Joyce, Bazie Smith, an infant sister, Mattie Sue Mabe.
Survivors include sons, Jackie Bennett (Patricia), Johnnie Bennett (Sue), Rickey Bennett (Gail), and Phil Bennett (Renee); a daughter, Mollie Hampton (Terry) grandchildren, Billy Bennett, Michael Bennett (Jennifer), Christie Hutson (Heath), Abrem Bennett, Anthony Bennett (Jill), Kandace Whicker, Ashley Bennett (Sherry); fifteen great-grandchildren; and a special aunt, Josie Mabe.
