Ann O’Dell Sellers, a beloved member of her family and community, passed away peacefully at her home on March 26, 2025.

Born on January 1, 1937, in Rockingham County, NC, Ann illuminated the lives of all who knew her through her unwavering kindness and vibrant spirit. She never met a stranger.

Ann enjoyed a fulfilling career as a retired Loan Officer at Bank of America, where she used her expertise to assist countless individuals with their financial needs. She later served as a tax preparer at Jackson Hewett, further showcasing her dedication to helping others navigate the complexities of finance.

A woman of many interests, Ann was an avid reader and a frequent visitor to the Eden Library, always eager to immerse herself in a good book. Her love of learning extended beyond personal enjoyment as she volunteered her time at the Eden Historical Museum, contributing to the preservation of local history. Additionally, Ann served as a Guardian ad Litem for the Court System, advocating for the welfare of children and ensuring their voices were heard.

In her personal life, Ann was known for her love of cooking, with a particular talent for preparing steaks that were as visually stunning as they were delicious. Meals at her table were special occasions, always set with fine silverware and plates—a testament to her belief that every meal deserved to be celebrated. An avid fan of Duke University sports, she cherished her allegiance, sharing her enthusiasm with family and friends. She and her husband Herb, loved to travel to many states across the United States but her main love was living in Eden.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Sheree Joyce Mills, and son-in-law, Allen Mills; her son, Robert “Bobbo” Joyce; her brother, Frank Odell; her stepson, Herbert “Bert” Wayne Sellers, and wife, Lee Sellers. She also leaves behind a loving legacy of grandchildren: Megan Joyce Kidwell (Cole), Ben Mills, Jack Mills, and Doug Corum; along with six great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, “chosen” daughter Marcia Davis and was dearly loved by numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert “Herb” Francis Sellers; her father, Claude Odell; her mother, Nancy Thompson Odell; her daughter, Dawn Joyce Neal; grandson Ethan Neal; her daughter, Terry Joyce Corum; sisters, Gracie Wagoner, Lucille Archibald, Jane Griffin and brother, William Odell

A funeral service in honor of Ann O’Dell Sellers will take place on Sunday March 30, 2025, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden, NC at 2 pm with a visitation to be held from 1 till 2 pm prior to the service.

Ann leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and community spirit that will not be forgotten. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
