Obituary: ANGELA CLAYTON LOVELACE

Angela Clayton Lovelace, 59, from Pelham, NC, was born on September 19, 1965 and promoted to Heaven on January 26, 2025. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side at UNC Chapel Hill Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel, 7671 NC Hwy 770 in Eden on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 3:00 pm with Pastor Robert Hicks officiating. The visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 pm. The family is also welcoming visitors at their home in Pelham.

Angela was born to Helen Francis Clayton and Troy Clayton, both deceased. She had a stepfather Garland Matherly (deceased) and step sister, Charlene Sykes of Burlington. Then later she discovered that Tex Combs (deceased) was her biologocal father. However, her Uncle Robert (deceased) helped raise her as his own.

She enjoyed working at Dan River MIlls, as a CNA/Caregiver and at McDonald’s where she made biscuits.

Angela lived a Blessed life with her husband of 41 years, Kenneth Lovelace; their fur baby, Max; their daughters, Sandy Lovelace Scovell (TJ Scovell II) and Amanda Dawn Lovelace (William Cassell). She had two granddaughters, Alicia Jazmine Scovell and Brianna Dawn Scovell (Landon Shelton), one grandson, William Dale Cassell (deceased) and one great granddaughter, Scarlett Rae Shelton. Later, she proudly accepted Cristian, Ava, Madison, Frankie, Cassidy (Phai) and baby Micah as her grandchildren as well.

She loved her cousins, nieces and nephews, her sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law, her church family, her neighbors, and her friends became her family. She had a special place in her heart for Cynthia Pendleton (deceased) and Angie Bean Warren as if they were her own daughters and Tina Mitchell as her own sister.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Milton Baptist Church.
