Amy Shelton Bennett, 62 passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 11, 2025, after fighting many serious health issues.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel. A graveside service will be held at Snow Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 3:30 p.m.

Amy was born July 18, 1962 in Stokes County. Amy was a hard worker. She started out at an early age working at her Dad’s store. After graduating from South Stokes High School, she worked over 20 years with Thomasville Furniture. Amy then went on to work for the NC DMV and was able to retire from there in 2013.

Amy loved spending time with her husband Eddie, whether they were out hunting, taking a leisurely drive, or just sitting in the cornfields that Eddie planted. Amy loved being with him. Amy was very supportive of her nephews, great-nephews and nieces. She tried to be at their events even during her health issues. She will be missed by many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Eddie Bennett; her father Laymon Shelton, and her sister Andrea Shelton Knight.

Survivors include her mother, Glenda Shelton; nephews, Matthew Bennett and Andrew (Jessica) Bennett of Danbury; great nieces and nephews, Ava, Aiden, Axel, Ainsley, Wyatt and Levi Bennett, and many special cousins and friends.

Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel of Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
