Mr. Alvis Dwayne Galloway passed on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina after a lengthy illness. Public viewing will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at McLaurin Memorial Chapel, 721 E. Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC

Alvis Dwayne Galloway was born to Clyde Alvis Moore and the late Betty Jean Galloway on September 16, 1966, in Reidsville, North Carolina. Dwayne began working with his father in his painting business at an early age and became a “jack of all trades, master of most”. He graduated from Reidsville Senior High School, Class of 1984 and began employment at Glen Raven Mills in Altamahaw, North Carolina, maintaining and fixing the machines for a number of years. Later, he worked at Smith-Stokes Automotive in Reidsville, North Carolina, where he detailed cars for more than 7 years until his health declined.

Dwayne was an avid outdoorsman and loved camping, boating and fishing. He just enjoyed the sport of fishing, since he always threw the fish back in.

In addition to his mother, he was pre-deceased by his maternal aunt, Rose Cardwell, and his paternal aunt, Frances Moore.

Those left to cherish precious memories include: his wife of 22 years, Mary Linville Galloway of the home; children, Tyreece Galloway (Jasmine) and TaJuan Galloway, all of Reidsville, NC, Jennifer Holman (Preston) of Burlington, NC, Crystal Warf of Reidsville, NC, and Joshua Warf of Burlington, NC; grandchildren, Victoria, Emily and Matthew, all of Burlington, NC, Izayuh, Oliviah, Josiyua and Sara, all of Reidsville, NC; father, Clyde Alvis Moore of Summerfield, NC; sister, Cynthia Clark (Rev. Joel) of Reidsville, NC; aunt, Dorothy Moore of Wentworth, NC; nephews, Jonte’ Johnson of Greensboro, NC and Jymon Clark of Charlotte, NC; cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

Ashton and Yolanda McLaurin and the staff of the McLaurin Funeral Home are serving the family. Covid-19 precautions will be followed with social distancing, masks and sanitizing required.
