Alma Yeatts Stowe, 93, of Eden, NC passed away peacefully on May 11, 2024 at her home following several years of declining health.
Alma was born in Dry Fork, VA on August 25, 1930 and was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Dry Fork, VA. A supportive pastor’s wife for nearly 50 years, she was also a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Rev. Curtis W. Stowe; parents, Rev. G. Dewey Yeatts and Artie Watlington Yeatts; sisters, Elsie Arnn, Faye Taylor, and Helen Lewis; brothers, Rev. Dail Yeatts and Harold Yeatts.
Alma is survived by her son, Wilford Stowe (Liz) of Hickory, NC; daughter, Wendy Epperly (Ron) of Martinsville, Va; sisters, Barbara Hardy of Richmond, VA, Rachel Hall of Cabot, AR; grandsons, Darren Epperly (Mary) of Martinsville, VA, Jon Chilton (Erin) of Greenville, SC, Joe Chilton (Heather) of Lake Wiley, SC; great-granddaughters, Emma and Ellie Epperly of Martinsville, VA, Mary Willis and Catherine Chilton of Greenville, SC; great-grandsons, Reynolds and Josiah Chilton of Greenville, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to neighbors, Charlie and Suzanne Barton, for their numerous acts of kindness and love shown throughout the years.
