Obituary: ALFONZA LEE MURPHY

Alfonza Lee Murphy, the beloved husband of Vanessa Harris Murphy, departed this life on Wednesday evening.
He was a native of Rockingham County and a resident of Caswell County for many years before returning to Rockingham County. Alfonza was a former employee of CC& T and was a member of Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church. During his leisure, he enjoyed the sport of fishing.
His father, John Murphy, preceded him in death. Survivors are: beloved wife of 27 years, Vanessa Harris Murphy; sons, Marcus Murphy and Keenen Murphy; granddaughter, Essence; beloved mother, Kay Henderson Murphy; sisters, Virginia Herbin (Ricky), Tasha Jackson (Anthony) and Dawn Pinchback (Tony); brothers, Hubert Murphy (Stacey), Artie Murphy (Audrey), Andrew Murphy (Yvonne) and Jimmy Murphy (Carol); other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 6038 Park Springs Road, Pelham with Pastor Gregory L. Hopkins presiding.
Public viewing will be Monday afternoon at Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street.
