Obituary: ALEXANDER CHESTER

Alexander Chester, 68, of Stoneville passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 15, 2024.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive freinds from 2 until 3 pm before the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

Alex was born on November 6, 1956 in Newark, New Jersey, a son of Margaret and John Chester, both deceased. He retired from Miller Coors. He loved his family dearly, especially the grandchildren. He was a sports fan, loved to camp, attend NASCAR races, have family and friends over for pool parties and caring for his fur babies, Lucy, Izabell, Aurora and Tony.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Owen Chester and his father-in-law, Norman Clark.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Tammy Clark Chester; his children, Ryan Hall (Nicole) of Stokesdale, Ridge Chester (Lindsay) and Alexis Chester (Zack Koford), all of Stoneville; his sister, Eileen Hollifield of Eden; his brothers, Skeeter Williams (Pam) of Ruffin, Ed Chester (Tina), Joseph Chester (Sharon); his mother-in-law, Doris Clark of Stoneville; his brothers-in-law, Keith Clark (Susan) and Chris Clark (Tasha) of Stoneville; his grandchildrfen, Conrad and Calvin Hall and Alana Chester; his nieces, Ginger Mabe, Kathy Whitehurst, Michelle Duell and Lily Clark; his nephews, Robert Hollifield, Eddie Hollifield, Jamie Chester, John Chester, Mat Chester, Joey Chester and Ty Clark, along with several great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Terry Daniel and Dr. Laura Patwa for their wonderful care, the family, special friends and co-workers who supported him and Tammy throughout this long journey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial dontations may be directed to SECU Family House, 1970 Baldwin Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103, a non-profit organization who offers a safe and loving environment to families who are battling cancer.
