Obituary: ALDEAN DEAN MABE

On Tuesday, August 22, 2023, Aldean (Dean) Mabe, 79, passed away, peacefully at his home as he left this earthly life for his eternal life.

Dean was born on June 28, 1944, in Danbury, N.C., to the late Ulus Mabe and Margie Katherine Calhoun Mabe.

In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by the first love of his life and wife of 44 years, Brenda Kay Ring Mabe; second wife of 9 years, Shelby Tuttle Cromer Mabe; loving sister Anna Jean Mabe; special brother Robert Leon Mabe; three special sisters-in-law, Sylvia Ann Mabe, Barbara Ann Mabe, and Bronda Lee Mabe.

Dean worked for RJR Brook Cove Division in Walnut Cove and was also a tobacco farmer for many years. Dean was of the Baptist faith. During these last summer months, he longed to go home because of his failing health.

Survivors include his daughter Kimberly Ann Mabe-Mabe (Barry); granddaughter Brittany Leigh Mabe; grandson Travis Dean Mabe; one sister-in-law Cindy Mabe (wife of his late brother Leon); three brothers Rayvon, William Kenneth, and Claude Glendale; two sisters Nancy Vernell Fulp (Allie Ray), Kathy Marie Belcher (Barry); several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel with funeral services following at 2 p.m. at the chapel with Pastor Dwayne Young officiating. Interment will follow at the Samaria Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 1052 Jewel Road, Danbury, N.C.

Dean’s family would like to thank the Lawsonville Fire Department, Stokes EMS, and the Law Enforcement for their time and compassion that was shown to the family during his passing. Also, to the fine people of Colonial Funeral Home for their kindness and respect that was shown, and for the care that was given to their beloved brother Dean.
