Reidsville, NC – April 23, 2024 – Mount Jubilee Ministries (MJM) is thrilled to announce the acquisition of 11 acres of land from the Cassidy and Chrismon families at the corner of Freeway Drive and Scales Street in Reidsville, NC. This significant milestone marks a profound step forward in realizing MJM’s vision of providing long-term residential housing for adults living with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).

Since its inception in 2005, MJM has been committed to the belief that every person, regardless of their ability, possesses a God-ordained purpose and deserves the chance to thrive as contributing members of society. The purchase of this property reflects MJM’s unwavering dedication to this principle. The Cassidy and Chrismon families both share this commitment and are overwhelmingly pleased to have their family land used for such purposes.

The acquisition was made possible through the generous donation of Mr. Jim Kirkpatrick, in memory of his late wife, Michelle. Mr. Kirkpatrick expressed his heartfelt support for MJM’s residential vision, stating, “When my wife Michelle and I heard about the Mount Jubilee Ministries vision, we knew right away that we wanted to be involved!” He further shared, “It is in Michelle’s memory that we support this amazing project that will lend itself, in part, to affordable Forever Homes for adults with special needs.”

Chairman of the Mount Jubilee Ministries board of directors, Roger Church, expressed gratitude for the provision and vision behind the acquisition, stating, “This purchase is the culmination of years of prayer, planning, and the Lord’s boundless provision. The board is grateful to take this next step in the evolution of this life-changing ministry.” The Lord’s hand has been prevalent throughout this process and MJM is taking this opportunity to celebrate and share the good news of what He has done in the ministry.

MJM’s vision for the newly acquired property extends beyond traditional group home models. The ministry aims to redefine residential opportunities for individuals with I/DD by integrating vocational training and employment opportunities within the community. This innovative approach seeks to empower individuals to lead fulfilling lives while contributing meaningfully to society.

As MJM embarks on this exciting new chapter, research for the development of the property is already underway. The ministry will be sharing updates with the community as development plans unfold.
