Rockingham County, N.C. (June 16, 2025) — A 23-year-old Mayodan man has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor following a joint investigation by the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Homeland Security.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began after a cybertip was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Acting on the tip, investigators with the Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant on Friday, June 13, at a residence located at 601 Means Creek Road in Mayodan.
As a result of the search, Dylan Alexander Cox was taken into custody and formally charged with five (5) counts of Second-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.
Cox was given a $100,000 secured bond and is currently being held at the Rockingham County Detention Facility. He is scheduled to appear in District Court on June 24, 2025.
The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office expressed its appreciation to the Department of Homeland Security for their assistance with the investigation.
