JUVENILES CHARGED AFTER VEHICLE THEFT AND KIDNAPPING IN EDEN
EDEN, N.C. — Two juveniles are facing serious charges, including first-degree kidnapping, following a vehicle theft incident Saturday afternoon that briefly involved a 9-month-old child.
Eden Police officers were dispatched around 3:03 p.m. on June 28, 2025, to the Draper Pool in response to a reported disturbance involving a group of juveniles. During the altercation, two female juveniles fled the area and entered a nearby vehicle that had been left running.
Unbeknownst to them—or ignored by them—a 9-month-old infant was secured in a car seat inside the vehicle. The child’s parents were reportedly standing at the rear of the vehicle at the time it was taken.
Responding officers swiftly located the suspects on Maryland Avenue, recovering the stolen vehicle and infant on Hopkins Court a short time later. Fortunately, the child was unharmed and still properly secured in the car seat when found.

15-year-old female
Charges include:
• First-Degree Kidnapping
• Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle
• Breaking & Entering a Motor Vehicle
• Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle
• (2) Counts of Assault Inflicting Serious Injury
• (2) Counts of Hit & Run
12-year-old female
Charges include:
• First-Degree Kidnapping
• Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle
• Breaking & Entering a Motor Vehicle
• Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle
The 15-year-old was transported to Juvenile Justice. The 12-year-old was released to her parents.
