(Eden, NC) – Santa’s Workshop is a Friends of Eden Animal Rescue (Friends) initiative designed to give back to their giving community. Local businesses, and community and service groups are invited to get involved by hosting a booth with an activity at the annual event. “Santa’s Workshop” will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday,November 18, 2023, for Rockingham County and surrounding community families. The event will be free of charge and will take place at the Leaksville Masonic Lodge at 419 Thompson Street, Eden.
Friends aims to encourage a sense of place and pride in our community with this event, and in 2023 all localbusinesses are urged to get involved by hosting activities for the children to enjoy. Santa’s Workshop brings a little of the yesteryear of the wonder of Christmas into a new age, so there are lots of opportunities to display both your creativity and your collaboration with colleagues but remember the vital ingredient! Child friendly!
Doing good is good for business. The benefits of small businesses donating their time or money to localorganizations are endless, and when businesses take the time to help their community, it improves the entire local ecosystem. This year, local business and community group participation is on top of Friends’ holiday wishlist! Guests will enjoy photos with Santa Claus, gingerbread cookie decorating, holiday crafting, a hot chocolate bar, Christmas caroling, and will vote on their favorite booths in Santa’s Workshop in the following categories:
- Christmas Star | Booth displaying the best overall creativity, appearance and originality
- Elf Award | Booth with best children’s activity
- Holiday Spirit Award | Booth with the most enthusiastic participants
- Vintage Award | Booth with best vintage display
- Rudolph’s Friends Award | Booth best featuring animals
- Fruitcake Award | Booth with most humorous display
There will also be a pet food and supply drive benefiting Tippy & Friends Pet Pantry. Wish list items for the drive include dog and cat kibble, canned food, toys, treats, blankets, beds and litter. Pet food and supply donations canbe dropped at The Dapper Dog, 600 Monroe Street, Eden from now leading up to the event.

Friends of Eden Animal Rescue, a 501c3 officially formed in 2014, is dedicated to saving shelter animals in the City of Eden and Rockingham County through networking with other rescues and potential adopters.
