(Eden, NC) – On February 23, 2025, Officers with the Eden Police Department responded to UNCR located at 117 W. Kings Highway in reference to a subject reporting an assault. Once officers arrived on scene and spoke with the victim they were able to identify the suspect (James Edward Christley Jr.). Officers located Christley and place him in custody without incident. James Edward Christley Jr is charged with the following:
- First Degree Kidnapping (Felony)
- Assault by Strangulation (Felony)
- Crime of Domestic Violence (Misd)
- Interfering with Emergency Communication (Misd)
- AID and Abet Underage Purchase of alcohol <21 (Misd)
- Communicating Threats (Misd)
Christley was transported to the Rockingham County Magistrates Office where he was given No Bond. James Edward Christley Jr. is to appear in Wentworth District Court on March, 17th, 2025 at 9:00am.
