Eden Man Facing Arson Charges Following House Fire

(Eden, NC) – On Saturday April 22, 2023 at approximately 1:40 PM Eden Fire Department responded to 331 S. Center St. in reference to a structure. During efforts to extinguish the fire, Eden Fire Department requested the response of Eden Police Department due to suspicious circumstances.

Patrol Officers arrived on scene and the resident of 331 S. Center St., Henry Edward Hall, was detained for further investigation.

The Rockingham County Fire Task Force was activated and responded to conduct an in-depth investigation into the origin and cause of the fire. At the conclusion of the investigation and after consultation with the Rockingham County District Attorneys Office, Henry Edward Hall was charged and arrested for Second Degree Arson (F)

Henry Edward Hall, 66 years old, of Eden North Carolina was charged with Second Degree Arson (F). Henry Hall was taken before a Rockingham County Magistrate and issued a $75,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on May 1, 2023.
