Reidsville Police Department News Release • April 11, 2023 • V. Carter
(Reidsville, NC) – On 04/10/2023, Reidsville Police Officers responded to Oakbrook Court Apartments regarding a shooting. Responding officers located a male victim with gunshot wounds. Officers attempted lifesaving efforts without success.
The victim, Jaheim Keyshawn Neal, (21), died as a result of the gunshot wounds.
Clifton Earl Dawes Jr, (19) of Hamlin Street, Eden, NC, has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder. Dawes was placed in Rockingham County Jail under $1,000,000.00 secured bond with a court date of April 18, 2023. This incident does not appear to be a random act of violence and was a dispute between a group of people which escalated to unnecessary violence.
