Eden Police Department News Release • June 12, 2023 • A. Lovings
(Eden, NC) – On June 12, 2023, at approximately 10:00 am, the Eden Police Department responded to 441 Wedgewood Ct to investigate a reported shooting. Once inside the residence, Officers located 25-year-old Jacob Ray Bullins suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. Despite life-saving measures, Jacob succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Detectives responded to the scene and assumed control over the investigation. The preliminary investigation revealed 23-year-old Tristan Simpson shot Jacob Bullins.
Tristan McKane Simpson of Eden, North Carolina, was arrested and charged with one (1) count of 1st-degree murder and one (1) count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Simpson was issued no bond on all his charges and is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on June 20, 2023.
