Keeping Cobras in the game with top-tier sports medicine
(Greensboro, NC) – Cone Health has been named the official medical provider for Greensboro’s Carolina Cobras.
The Carolina Cobras are a professional arena football team competing in the National Arena League (NAL). Since their inaugural season in 2018, which saw them win the league championship in Greensboro, the Cobras have consistently ranked among the top teams in the NAL, reaching multiple championship games.
Cone Health’s OrthoCare will provide athletic training, sports medicine, physical therapy, and on-site physicians for Cobras athletes throughout the NAL season.
Dr. Steven Bokshan, an orthopedic surgeon with Cone Health, shared his enthusiasm about the collaboration. “Arena football is fast, physical, and unpredictable, and these athletes push their bodies to the limit. OrthoCare in a sports setting focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating injuries related to high-impact movement. From fractures and dislocations to ligament tears and chronic joint issues, Cone Health’s specialists will work to keep athletes on the field with expert surgical and non-surgical treatments, personalized rehab plans, and cutting-edge recovery techniques.
