Theodore “Peter” Simmons departed this life on Thursday morning, December 1, 2022.

As a native and lifelong resident of Guilford County, North Carolina, he attended the local public schools and was a graduate of Northeast High School, Class of 1979.  “Peter”, as he was affectionately referred by family and close friends, was the proprietor of T. Simmons Backhoe & Concrete.  Spiritually, he was a faithful member of Smyrna Church of Christ.  During his leisure, he enjoyed fishing, listening to music (Old School), watching football, racing and was a car enthusiast.  Being well-known, well-liked and well-respected, “Peter” possessed a loving and giving spirit which won him an enormous circle of friends. We thank God for this faithful servant who endured unto the end.  Glory To God!

His father, William Harvey Simmons; brothers, William Anthony Simmons and Johnny Lee Simmons, preceded him in death.  Survivors are: his lifetime love, Lillie Marlene Redfearn; loving daughter, Lillie Theodoria Simmons; beloved mother, Myrtle Flack Simmons; sisters, Felica Simmons and Minnie Simmons; brothers, Dexter Simmons (Brenda) and Stacey Simmons (Brandy); aunts, Marie Patterson, Jeanette Clayborn and Paulette Walton; special cousin, Calvin Simmons; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:30 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022 from the Smyrna Church of Christ, 1025 Mizpah Church Road, Reidsville with Bishop Ron Flack, Jr., presiding and Bishop Thomas L. Fowler, eulogist.  The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:30 until 12:30 p.m. at the church.  Public viewing will be Friday afternoon at Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street, Reidsville.
