Obituary: JUNE COMER MORTON

June Knight Comer Morton, 87, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at her home.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends beginning at 12 noon on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Morton was born on July 8, 1935 in Rockingham County to the late William Henry Comer and Lula Knight Comer. She and her late husband owned Plantation House Furniture in Walkertown, where they both worked until retirement. She was a Christian and attended Walnut Cove Christian Church. June enjoyed being with her family and many friends. She was kind, thoughtful and generous.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Morton; granddaughter, Lori Hutchens; brother, Henry Lee “Pete” Comer; sister, Becky Comer Fuller; sister-in-law, Virginia Smith and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Morton.

Survivors include her children, Jeffrey Morton (Sharon) of Pawley’s Island, SC, Brad Morton of Belews Creek, Susan Lindsay of Greensboro, Christopher Morton (Justine) and Greg Morton, all of Walkertown; grandchildren, Krystal Davis (Marty) of Asheville and Hilary Finney Lucki of Ohio; great-grandchildren, Natalie Morton, Ava Davis, Naya Davis and Adam Wood, Jr.; brother, Bob Comer (Eunice) of Shiloh; sisters, Veda Ellisor (Joe) and Pat Matheson (Don), all of Greensboro and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the East Stokes Outreach Ministry in Walnut Cove.
