Darold Clinton Scott, the beloved husband of Phyllis Mc Cain Scott, departed this life on Thursday morning, November 24, 2022.
He was a native of Miami, Florida and a resident of North Carolina since 1984. Darold was a graduate of Miami Central High School, Class of 1984 and pursued further education at Saint Augustine College. Spiritually, he was a faithful member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church where he served with the United Methodist Men, Male Chorus, Lay Speaker and former Sunday School Superintendent. Following 34 years of service, he retired from the United Parcel Service. During his leisure, he enjoyed social media, nature, spending time with family and landscaping.
His mother, Gussie Stanley Scott and a nephew, Raymond Darden, preceded him in death.
Survivors are: beloved wife of 29 years, Phyllis Mc Cain Scott; loving daughters, Chauntrice Riley-Stanford (Jathan), Jasmine Scott, Allyse Scott and Tamia Scott; grandchildren, Chase Stanford and Tailani Johnson; beloved father, Harold Scott, Sr. (Edna); sisters, Jessica Scott and Loralyn Mosely; twin brother, Harold Scott, Jr. (Diane); sisters-in-law, Lisa Galloway (Quincy) and Laurie Slade (Anthony); bonus daughters, Talaysia Sanderson, Lakaiya Johnson and Ebony Jackson; special friend, Carl Bell; a host of nieces and nephews (whom he loved dearly); aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2022 from the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 420 Mizpah Church Road with Pastor Bahekelwa Imatha presiding and Rev. Irvin Best, eulogist. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 until 1:00 p.m. at the church. Public viewing will be Friday afternoon at Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street.
