James B. McGuire, 87, of Martinsville, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, N.C.

Funeral Services will be Thursday 12 Noon at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden, N.C. with family receiving friends one hour prior to the service (11 am to 12 pm).  Burial will follow in Overlook Cemetery in Eden, N.C. Family receiving friends at other times at 463 Martinwood Road, Eden.

James was born October 27, 1934 in Henry County, VA., to the late Walter and Callie Christley McGuire.  James was the Pastor for Light House Full Gospel Church for many years.  He also worked for DuPont and Western and Southern Life.  He served in the Army National Guard for 11 and a half years.  He loved his family and loved the Lord. 

He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Hunt) McGuire of Martinsville; 2 sons, James Benjie McGuire of Martinsville and Joseph Jamie (Amy) McGuire of Danville, VA.; grandchildren, Steven McGuire, Sarah McGuire, Hannah McGuire, Joey Brandt and Nick Lee; sisters, Marie McGuire of Eden, Tennie Hall of Eden, Shirley Carter of Reidsville, Barbara Cousin of Cascade, VA., Jodie Majors of Greensboro and Marion Land of Greensboro; 1 brother, Mack McGuire of Columbus, N.C. 

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Joey McGuire and Noah McGuire; 2 sisters, Nancy Ward and Becky King; 1 brother, Calvin McGuire.
