Shirley Durham Duggins, 83, of Reidsville went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 14, 2022.
A funeral service will be held at New Life Baptist Chapel at 2:00PM on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, with Pastor Ted Cook officiating. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6-8PM on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, and other times at the home.
Shirley was born on February 27, 1939, to the late Eddison and Margaret Durham. She started working in the Spinning department of Revolution Plant Cone Mills after High School. She worked there for 22 years and then worked at Burlington Mills Special products where she retired after 15 years of service in 2002. She was a Charter Member of New Life Baptist Chapel in Greensboro. Shirley loved to travel with her friends and family and especially enjoyed weekend trips to the beach and mountains with her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was always kind, loved people and there for anyone in need. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Robie Duggins and siblings, Ronnie Durham and Patsy Lucas.
Shirley is survived by her son, Allen Stanley (Jeanne Stanley); grandchildren, Dana Stanley (Luke), Megan Nance (Kelly); great-grandchildren, Chloe Garrison, Lexie Grace, Bailee Nance; brother, Pete Durham; sisters, Nancy Hall and Brenda Setliff along with a loving group of extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Life Baptist Chapel at 3100 Aldine Road, Greensboro, NC 27405.
