Obituary: JAMES CLYDE PACK

James Clyde Pack, 74, left this earthly life Saturday, August 13, 2022, at home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Friday, August 19, 2022, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel. Friends will be received beginning at 12:30 pm, prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Dan River Baptist Church Cemetery.

Clyde was born June 9, 1948, in Patrick County, Virginia, to the late Lester and Nannie Pack. He was a past employee of J.P. Stevens and Cardinal Ford and Mercury. Clyde was married to the love of his life and best friend for 36 years, Ruby Jane Pack (Janie). He was known in the community as a kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to help someone. Known as the lawnmower man, there was nothing he couldn’t fix. He was also a skilled carpenter. He was a hardworking man who loved spending time with his family and making people laugh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Curtis (Doris) Pack, Odell Pack, Cecil Pack, and grandson, Andrew Shelton.

Clyde leaves four children, Jerry Pack, Valerie Shelton, Lee Ratcliff (Angie), and Lucas James Clayton (Olivia aka Libby Hill); ten grandchildren, Andrew Thomas Yopp, Victoria Felts, Heavon Ratcliff, Christopher (Runt) Shelton, Matthew Shelton, Madysin Ratcliff, Tanner Bowman, Dillon McCraw, and Jayden McCraw; and a special granddaughter, Quinleigh Dawn Delores Clayton; and one great-granddaughter; three siblings, Akers Pack, Jesse (Pearl) Pack, and Ruby Simmons (Ricky), as well as many nieces, nephews and loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel to
assist with funeral expenses.

Colonial Funeral Home in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
