Phyllis Walker Simpson, 73, passed away on August 22, 2022 surrounded by her family.

A memorial service will be held 12 noon, Friday, August 26, 2022 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 11am – 12 noon.
Phyllis was born November 26, 1948 to the late Julius Bryan Walker and Billie Shelton Walker. She was a graduate of Reidsville Senior High School and later graduated from East Tennessee University. She was a little sister in the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Phyllis was employed as the Executive Director of The Bayberry in Eden and later went on to be the Patient Representative at Morehead Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Leaksville United Methodist Church.

Phyllis loved her husband and family more than anything. She loved cooking for them and her friends. She would always say that her proudest moments and accomplishments in life were being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She poured her heart into those three roles daily and did it beautifully. Phyllis was a phenomenal cook, but was best known for her peanut butter fudge. She had the most beautiful blue eyes, the most infectious laugh, and the largest servant’s heart for helping others.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years, Pete Simpson; sons, Glenn Simpson (Leslie), Bryan Simpson (Luchie); grandson, Hudson Simpson; sister, Kitty Lindenthal. Phyllis is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other special family members.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Rockingham County for the wonderful care and compassion over the last week. A special thank you to all of her dear friends and wonderful neighbors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.

Online condolences may be left for the family at www.fairfuneralhome.com.
