Obituary: LATONGA LOLITA LINDSEY SLADE

Mrs. Latonga Lolita Lindsey Slade, the beloved wife of Sandy Slade, departed this life on Monday, May 9, 2022.
As a native and lifelong resident of Rockingham County, North Carolina, she attended the local public schools and was a graduate of Rockingham County High School, Class of 1981 and pursued further education at Rockingham Community College, receiving a degree in Cosmetology. She was a former Store Manager for Shoe Show and Check Exchange. Spiritually, she was a member of Smyrna Church of Christ. Latonga enjoyed baking pies and gardening.
Her father, Ralph Lindsey, Sr. and a brother, Robert M. Lindsey, preceded her in death.
Survivors are: beloved husband of 32 years, Sandy Slade; daughter, Shamica Woods-Dickerson (Tyrone); sons, Tyler L. Lindsey and Braylon Slade; grandchildren, Myasha, Tyasha, Tyrone, Jr., Dreamer and Zayden; beloved mother, Vivian Finch Jackson (Billy); maternal grandmother, Bertha Morehead; sisters, Tina Lindsey, Vivian Lindsey, Vetia Hall and Alicia Lindsey; brothers, Ralph Lindsey, Jr. (Jane), Joseph Lindsey (Nikoma) and Ja’mere Jackson; aunts, Anna Meadors (John), Mary Etta Slade and Junnie Willis (Charles); uncle, Harry Broadnax; sisters-in-law, Barbara Slade, Dee Slade and Ora Slade; brothers-in-law, Ricky Slade (Zina), Henry Slade (Connie), William Slade (Rose) and Albert Slade (Velma); special friends, Pastor Angela Fountain (Richard), Carolyn Courts and Kim Casey; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2022 from the Smyrna Church of Christ, 1025 Mizpah Church Road with Bishop Thomas Fowler presiding. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 until 2:30 p.m. at the church.
