Obituary: HELEN ROBERTSON HOLLAND

Helen Gray Robertson Holland, devoted wife, mother and loving “Nannie” to her grandkids, entered eternal rest Friday, November 1, 2024, at Ancora Compassionate Care, Gibson House, Reidsville.

A life-long resident of Rockingham County, Helen was born on May 12, 1930. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Mayodan. She loved the Lord and her church family. When health permitted, Helen wanted to be in church. She was an avid reader, and loved gospel music. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family, especially the grandkids.

Mrs. Holland was preceded in death by her parents, Russell Gray Robertson and Hattie Mae Wilson Robertson and a son, Jerry Holland.

Survivors include her husband, of 75 years, Charlie David Holland; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Karen Holland, of Madison; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Bill Elmore, of Hillsborough and Carol and Ed McLawhon, of Madison; son, Charles and daughter-in-law, Wendy Holland, of Madison; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Holland, of Madison; grandchildren, Heidi (John) Lambeth, John (Heather) McLawhon, Jamie (Jenna) McLawhon, Dr. Kristin (John) Schuldt, Dr. Kevin Elmore; Daniel, Tyler, and David Holland; five great-grandchildren, Jack, Maggie, Haylee, Philip, and Caroline, and special friend of the family, Althea Fulcher.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Woodland Cemetery in Madison with Reverend Randy Jessup officiating.

The family extends their appreciation to her caregiver, Faye Serrano.

Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
