Phyliss Rominger Joyce, 75, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024 at UNC Rockingham Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Phyliss was born on February 27, 1949 to the late James Wade and Pearl Dunlap Rominger. She was an avid fan of game shows and never missed an episode of her favorite soap opera, “The Young and the Restless.” Phyliss also had a deep passion for sports, especially cheering on the Duke Blue Devils. Phyliss embraced life to the fullest and had a special gift for making everyone around her feel cherished. Her love for people was evident in the many friendships she nurtured over the years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Joyce.
She is survived by her son, Jeffery Adam Joyce; grandson, Ryan Wade Joyce; sister, Brenda R. Mabe; sister-in-law, Louise Harder, Becky Joyce; brother-in-law, Jimmy Wall and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon’s International.
Colonial Funeral Home of Madison is serving the family.
