Obituary: ROBERTA “BOBBIE” SUE (BAILEY) STRIDER

Roberta “Bobbie” Sue Bailey Strider, 77, unexpectedly went into the hospital with a ruptured aorta and passed away peacefully with her family around her in the early morning of Saturday, October 12, 2024.
A native of Guilford County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lester and Billie Melvin Bailey and was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Wayne Strider. They lived in the Monroeton Community of Rockingham County most of their life. Bobbie was a retired Dental Assistant and worked for Dr. Upchurch for many years. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. After she and her husband retired, they opened and operated Settle Street Station Antique Mall for many years. Restoring and selling antiques were a huge part of Bobbie’s life and brought lots of joy and friendships. Wayne and Bobbie spent many weeks and weekends preparing and selling antiques at festivals like Denton’s Threshers Reunion and Liberty Antique Festival. Bobbie had a passion and talent for decorating and cooking, and loved having her family gathered around her large 12 foot table. She was a loving wife, mother, and Nana that would do anything for her family.
Surviving is her son Keith Strider and wife, Cynthia, of Randleman; sister Debbie Hopkins and husband, Jeff; brother Steve Bailey and wife, Debbie; grandchildren: Brock McNabb and wife, Casey; Maddison Price and husband, Aaron; Bailey Bailey and husband, Zack; and Chesney Strider; great grandchildren: Evelyn Price, Quay Price, Hadleigh McNabb, Huxton McNabb, and Briggs Bailey; sister in law Sandra Vernon; brother in law, Mark Strider and wife, Heather; and several loving nieces and nephews.
