Obituary: CAROLYN ANN GAMMON

Carolyn Ann Gammon, 78, of 1812 Worsham Mill Road, went home to be with The Lord, Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at her home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, October 11, 2024, at Guerrant Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Daniel Bray and Pastor Ronnie Dunn officiating. The burial will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Carolyn was born in Rockingham County to the late Dennis and Madgel Bray Gammon. She was a successful insurance agent and retired after over 30 years of service working at Farm Bureau, Piedmont Triad, and Nationwide Insurance agencies. Carolyn was a charter member of Guerrant Springs Baptist Church and faithfully attended there her whole life. She always made her house a home to family and friends. Carolyn was a wonderful cook and gardener. Throughout her life, she always put others first and served as a faithful caregiver to multiple family members over the years. Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by her brothers Ralph Gammon, Larry Gammon and Ray Gammon; sister Ruby Jane Gammon; niece Donna Gammon; and nephew Mike Gammon.

Carolyn is survived by her children Donald Austin and wife Rebecca, and Denise Austin-Dix and husband Robbie; grandchildren Leah Cothran and fiancé Kenneth Church, Zack Austin, Emily Austin, Brooke Austin, Joseph Austin, and Houston Dix; great granddaughter Kimberlyn Walker; adopted by love granddaughter Emily Anderson; brothers Lee Roy Gammon and wife Francis and Wilber “Cricket” Gammon and wife Marsha; sister Elizabeth Waddell; a large extended family and her lifetime church family.
