Deborah Goad McHone, 71, departed this earthly life Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Lifebrite Community Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on November 10, 1952, in Guilford County, Deborah attended North Stokes High School, was a member of Lawsonville Baptist Church, and a past employee of MACFIELD, Inc. She retired from Mayflower Seafood Restaurant with 25 year of waitressing. She relaxed with scrapbooking, reading, and listening to beach music. Deborah loved gardening and baking, especially sweets. She tried to master Granny Ann’s chocolate pies and banana pudding (and she did). Her greatest joy was her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley Edmond Marshall Goad and Annie Laura Hall Goad.

Deborah is survived by a daughter, Marsha McHone; son, Darrin McHone (Anita); grandchildren, Nicole Mchone Hairston, Jimmy McHone, Samantha Garrett (Adam), and Jensen Gauldin; great-grandchildren, Jasmine McHone, Briyelle Graham, Willow Grayce McHone, Emeree Hairston, Emily Garrett, Asher and Averi Gauldin.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2024, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel, and other times at the residence.
