Betty Lou Cox Williams, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 23, 2022 surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, June 27, 2022, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Travis McGuirt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00-2:00PM at the funeral home.
Betty was born on February 18, 1936, in Rockingham County to the late Wallace and Beulah Cox. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church as long as her health would allow her. She loved to travel, bake her famous cakes, and read her bible. Betty will be remembered for her great personality, sense of humor and as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Franklin Bradshaw; son, Lonnie Bradshaw; sisters, Callie Mae Tickle and Carrie Lee Ferguson; brother, Floyd James Cox.
Betty is survived by her husband of over 30 years, Frank Williams; children, Betty Diane Craven and husband Carl, Lee Ann Zimmerman and husband Jesse, Darrell Bradshaw and wife Beverly, Link Williams and wife Wendy, and Kathie Bradshaw Compton and husband Len; grandchildren, Michelle Richards and husband John, Bradley Compton, Joshua Compton, John Compton and wife Jessica, Sonya Bullins and husband Ernie, Jimmy Darrell Bradshaw II and wife Andria, April Davis and husband Chuck, and Phillip Zimmerman and wife Amy. She is also survived by nineteen great-grandchildren; sister, Beulah Lovelace, in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
The family would like to say a special thank you to nurse Kathy, nurse Rhonda and Mrs. Valarie, from Hospice of Rockingham County who brought comfort and care to Betty over the last several weeks.
