Barbara Ann Smith Mabe, 78, died on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at UNC Rockingham Nursing and Rehabilitation.
The funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon on Saturday, June 25, 2022 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Delta United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home and all other times at 645 Manuel Road, Mayodan.
Mrs. Mabe was born on December 2, 1943 in Stokes County to the late Ollie Smith and Maggie Southern Smith. She retired from Gem Dandy and was of the Baptist faith. For several years following her retirement, Barbara enjoyed caring for several children in her home as well as staying with the elderly.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jackson “Jackie” Dennis Mabe; her two brothers, Dallas Gray Smith and Joe Bill Smith; her sister, Frances Palmer and grandchildren, Addison and Tanner Mabe.
Survivors include her sons, Jackie Dean Mabe and Jason Todd Mabe and wife, Paige; grandchildren, Kinley and Payton Mabe and many special nieces and nephews.
Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
